Shit Gets Real

If you're tired of hearing about JHB and Bay server drama, un-tag yourself and stop reading.

I looked creepy standing behind a tree on Rider Isle so I called myself the Guardian of Rider Isle and demanded that passing players must pay homage to me. One person didn't, and I called out "THIS IS SACRILEGE" in Global. Following conversation is taken directly from my chat log, the only things omitted are chat riddles, TSGs, and quizzes.

JerseyHotblood[mod]: no religion please
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: I said absolutely nothing about religion.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: sacrilege is a term used for religious purposes... you can look it up.. any form of religion is not allowed, thank
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Sacrilege is used in broader terms that merely religion. If you were to look at my previous chats and look at the context in which I used it, I'm not being religious whatsoever.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: I know how it was used..and all I am telling you is that it is not allowed. Just please do not use terms that can be used to have religious meanings... Just a friendly reminder
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: This is a game, I don't apply any parts of my education, religion (or lack thereof), political views, or other personal things into it. Nitpick elsewhere, pl0x.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Honestly?
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: If you prefer a game where words are regulated down to the spelling, which might be more handy for you, might I suggest HI2?
JerseyHotblood[mod]: Hi can you please remove the last sentence of your profile. "and set it on fire" violence in any form is against HI rules, thanks
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Why, sure. Can you please delete the "hotblood" part of your name? Forget the context, because we don't evaluate that anymore. Violence and gore in any form can scare younger children. Thanks.
Your profile changes were saved.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: If you feel it is a problem, please report.
Your profile changes were saved.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Sure will!
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Also, can I discuss a concern I have?
JerseyHotblood[mod]: Absolutely :)
JerseyHotblood[mod]: And I appreciate you remiving the last sentence. Thank you
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: I, as a human being, value integrity in a person. You may be a mod, but when you're in an argument and you realize you are wrong, it's okay to admit that. The juvenile thing to do is to find something to nitpick the other person for, just to feel that you've won a little bit. Also, even though our little tiff about the use of "sacrilege" ended with you not responding, I have little doubt that you gave me a violation point for it anyways, even though it was for no reason.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: Mods do not issue violation points. Only admin can do that
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: I understand that mods are put in place to keep HI safe and friendly, and I enjoy the game when there is no swearing or arguing. But for moderators to be effective, players need to respect them. So I would personally like some integrity.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Out of that whole message, all you could think to address was who gives the vio points?
JerseyHotblood[mod]: If you feel you were treated unfairly in any way..please feel free to file an abuse report.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: I don't. I'm saying that I don't think you're effective because you don't get any respect from the way you do things.
TIME IS UP: No one answered the Chat Riddle in time.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: I am sorry you feel I did the wrong thing by not arguing with you. I send the reminders I need to send, i explain WHY I send tham and thats it. As I said. If you feel i am wrong or I have treated you unfairly in any way then feel free to file an abuse report. If i addresses something the wrong way and did not hanle it properly then admin will let me know about it
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Ha.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: The admins.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Sorry, I just found that funny, that the admins would change anything.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: Well, If you do not agree with those who created and run the game..then why play?
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: I agreed when I started playing.
ISLE CARD TRADING GAME: You have just been given FOUR Isle Trading Cards. They are identical. To win at this game, you will need exactly one of each stallion, mare, colt and filly card in 5 minutes (60 game minutes).
JerseyHotblood[mod]: Well, they are the ones who make the rules...we are just asked to see they are followed.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Then the whole controversy with the Bay server started, and they sided with the *cough* wrong parties on banning multiple players over something very, very silly. From the numerous letters and emails that I have seen from a variety of players sent to the admin, (mind you that these were actually thought out, peer edited, and in no way rage-letters), nothing was changed.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: Sometimes people only have information form one side. Admin had information from all sides. The chats were reviewed and appropiate actions were taken.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Well, I'm going to agree to disagree.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: (Integrity)
JerseyHotblood[mod]: If I may ask...why do you think players were banned?
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Rice.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: Rice.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: you think it was because of the topic rice?
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Really, that's what it (no pun intended) boils down to.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: Well, it was a bit more involved then just "rice" there were rules broken. And honestly it could have been any topic.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: So you would ban players over any topic?
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: So people can talk about fish-slapping, bookface, Twilight, politics, economics, nationalities, and gender but they can't talk about rice?
JerseyHotblood[mod]: I cant ban anyone. Only admin can ban. And the meaning of that was the topic could have been anything...it was what was involved with the "rice" that was breaking the rules.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: It was that people should come to Earton and drop random items into an imaginary rice pot.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: No, It was asked that players come and "sacrifice" items to the rice pot
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Again, context.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Also, I was there.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: THAT is where the rule breaking was
JerseyHotblood[mod]: absolutely context
JerseyHotblood[mod]: not only that it was then asked to be dropped or moved to bud by a mod. Players chose to not do so and agrue about it. that was another rule violation
JerseyHotblood[mod]: so, you see. It was not just over "rice" that actions were taken
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: The context involved dropping items, not Aztec sacrifice to Quetzalcoatl. (You may want to look that up). It was dropping items, not tearing out hearts.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: It doesnt matter..sacrificing is a form of relligion.  and is against the rules.  Some players have to remember that this is a family game that has players of all ages.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: And by "players of all ages", you mean there could possibly be little kids who get scared of religion. Said small children wouldn't associate dropping useless cranberries on Twig with unicornsish sacrifice.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: As I said.  admin and the creators make the rules.  We as mods are just asked to see they are followed.  If you do not agree with their rules..simply do not play.  there are many other social sites that you can do anything you want to do.  but here..the rules are strict and heavily enforced.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: And i do not mean that in a negative way.  so please do not take that as I am telling you to not
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: I realize that, I've been playing for quite a while. However, it's only recently that ridiculous action has been taken on the rules.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: All I am saying is that if you do not agree with how things are run here...then maybe you would be happier on a social site with less rules
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: *headdesk* I am not disagreeing with the way things are run. It's you, and solely you that I have an issue with. Sorry to be so brutally honest.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: On a brighter note, I do appreciate your use of grammar and spelling throughout this whole conversation.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: But remember..I did not ban anyone nor did i issue vio points...that was admin..sounds like your issue is with them as well.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Again, it leads back to the one mod that found issue with friends joking around about rice in Eartip.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: I was only doing what admin has asked me to do.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: The admins sided with their prodigy, and then the bans ensued, without responses to emails providing chat logs showing that rules were not broken.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: I just explained to you which rules were broken. If you refuse to see that then there is not much more I can say.  Maybe sending admin an email asking about the situation will provide you with a more acceptable explanation
JerseyHotblood[mod]: But bottom line is there were rules broken in that situation.  you may not feel so becuase of different "context"  but still they were.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: I've had at least five friends send emails to the admin, I'm half-convinced the admins just delete them on sight.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: As far as I know Admin reads all reports or emails that are sent. And I am sure ALL emails on that topic were read because it was a pretty big issue.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: And yes, points AND bans were handed out...so I honestly wouldnt understand why they wouldnt read emails on the situation
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: And how often do they respond?
JerseyHotblood[mod]: If a responce is necessary i would think within a few days.
JerseyHotblood[mod]: Did you personally ever send an email pertaining to the situation?
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: That's a perfect time frame, if HI dynamics were actually true. Unfortunately, the aforementioned complaint emails never recieved a response from the admin.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: I never had an issue with the banning, nor did I recieve a ban for it. My issue with the admins and /some/ moderators is the way the issue was addressed. Simply by pretending the problem does not exist.
Palzfurreva>JerseyHotblood: Please don't make generalizations about the integrity and honestry of my friends, when you yourself have none to speak of.
